Typically, the master's program spans three semesters (2 years) of full-time enrollment.
Students also have the option to take additional coursework hours in place of completing the thesis.

For international students, the general requirements are as follows:
- Minimum 36 total credit hours of course work (typically completed in 4 semesters or 2 years when enrolled as a full-time student)
- Grade of 80 points - equivalent to a letter grade 'B'
- Minimum score of 70 points on the four subject areas of the comprehensive written exam
- Completion of foreign language requirement specified by the Graduate School
- Doctoral dissertation approved by dissertation examiners
Please note that additional credit hours beyond regular coursework are not required in order to complete a Ph.D. dissertation.
